Position Overview:  PCNA’s Quality Engineering Staff are responsible for identifying, assessing and managing root cause/corrective actions for technical issues requiring timely solutions for the field, thus ensuring successful completion of the ‘quality circle.’ Quality Engineering strives for timely issue resolution in the form of engineering changes, and or the coordination of formally communicated measures for the ‘Field.’ Supporting PCNA’s QE staff, tasks involves working across all vehicle and smart mobility engineering disciplines (KEFAG+HV) in support of quality improvement.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Analyze Warranty Cases: Involves (1) Monitoring for frequent product quality issues, including issues that may lead to Lemon Law repurchases; (2) discovery of new product quality issues unknown to Porsche AG (PAG); (3) establishing a correlation of known product quality issues relevant to monthly vehicle repurchase cases;  (4) gauging effectiveness of engineering solutions implemented in the market; (5) supporting the Hotline and Field Technical Managers to resolve and mitigate cases requiring Engineering involvement.
  • Lemon Law Repurchase Review: Technical review of repurchases and increased control for repurchases initiated for technical reasons, both within customer commitment and at the dealer level. This information serves as an important quality metric.
  • Data Acquisition and Analysis: Collecting objective data to reduce the time associated with diagnosis and root cause investigation by assisting development departments to understand issues. Installing data acquisition equipment, writing appropriate configurations to capture data and ensuring the recorded data is suitable for analysis through verification.
  • Market Side Issue Management to support PAG Analysis teams and R&D: In many instances, PAG require collaboration with PCNA for investigation. Resolution in concurrent engineering committees within development and analytical support often requires testing and analysis contribution from PCNA.

QualificationsQualifications

Qualifications:

  • Completed, or in the process of completing requirements for an Engineering Degree (ABET accredited BSME or BSEE), and a hands-on technical background
  • Theoretical and Practical automotive knowledge across all vehicle engineering disciplines
  • Data logging and analysis for investigations
  • Knowledge of the German language and culture a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Able to learn new information quickly and to apply it as needed to his or her responsibilities
  • Passion for the Porsche brand

 

General Information

  • Duration: 6 months
  • Location:  Atlanta, Georgia
  • Hybrid: 50% in-office on designated days.
  • The hourly range for this role is $18-$20, dependent on education status.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to talk, hear, walk, sit, stand, climb stairs on occasion with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • Must be able to effectively work and complete tasks in an open office/noisy environment.
