Position overview

The position manages the tax compliance and supports the tax internal control process (ICS) with respect to all Porsche North American entities, which includes filing Forms 1120, 1065, and LLC returns. Supports planning for and analyzing the tax impact of business transactions, law changes and tax strategies. Researching tax law to support business units with tax related decisions or operational decisions that impact the tax position. Partners with the Finance / Accounting organizations to ensure compliance with tax procedures and gather required data necessary for tax purposes.

 

Roles & responsibilities

Primary responsibilities:

 

Tax Compliance

  • Schedule and plan for all income tax filings for North American companies.
  • Review and e-file U.S. Federal and State 1120’s for all group companies.
  • Review and e-file U.S. Federal and State1065’s for the finance company partnerships.
  • Review and e-file State LLC returns.
  • Review and e-file the Canadian Federal and Provincial income tax returns.
  • Calculate tax depreciation for all companies.
  • Reviewing and filing Federal and State income tax estimated payments.
  • Review and file miscellaneous returns as needed.
  • Educate other financial areas to ensure that tax-reporting needs and procedures are followed.
  • Manage Tax internal control process (Impero).
  • Manage Tax Department compliance calendar.
  • Manage annual Form 1099 reporting process.

 

Tax Audits

  • Resolving notices and managing State income tax audits for North American Companies.

 

Business Unit Support

  • Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Work with the accounting personnel to ensure properly & timely recording of tax payments and refunds.
  • Collaborate with business unit personnel with respect to tax compliance needs and procedural issues.

 

Tax Planning Support

  • Research and resolve issues that arise in the compliance process.
  • Structure financial and tax return data to support tax-planning initiatives.
  • Work with Tax Director, Tax Manager and Tax Analysts to identify areas of exposure.
  • Assist the Tax Director, Tax Manager and Tax Analysts with research and special projects as issues arise.

 

Tax Accounting

  • Support quarterly IAS12 calculation for North American consolidated group.
  • Preparation and review of quarterly tax provision including preparation of the quarterly internal and external financial reporting disclosures as well as the continuing documentation of tax positions pursuant to FIN 48.
  • Investigate and solve technical tax and accounting problems.
  • Document tax research and accounting conclusions in memorandum.
  • Analyze proposed tax laws and calculate impacts to the Company as well as the implementation of new tax laws.
  • Translates technical tax matters in non-technical terms for other reporting units of the company, and assists in tax-related issue resolution.
  • Coordinate income tax system needs and suggest process improvement.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with business units and auditors including investigating, concluding and responding to questions regarding tax matters.

QualificationsQualifications

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.  CPA required, MST a plus

 

Experience:

  • 5-7 years of income tax experience including a combination of public accounting firm and large corporate tax department. 
  • Excellent personal computer skills required Excel, Word, Onesource, tax research software, and fixed asset software. SAP experience a plus.

 

Skills:

  • Excellent organizational skills required with an ability to meet highly detailed reporting requirements.
  • This individual must have good communication skills and the ability to work openly within a team. It is important to foster good working relationships in all areas of the company as well as with outside professional firms and state agencies.

 

The salary range for this role is $105,000-$115,000. However, it is important to note that at Porsche, compensation range is dependent on geographic location. Individual salaries within each range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skillset. Porsche reviews compensation regularly and may adjust base salaries to reflect market competitiveness.

Schedule/Shift: Hybrid schedule, 2-3 days per week in the Atlanta office.

 

 

Physical requirements

  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to talk, hear, walk, sit, stand, climb stairs on occasion with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to effectively work and complete tasks in an open office/noisy environment.
