Position overview

Support Associate General Counsel (AGC) with management of U.S. product liability and class action matters.

Roles & responsibilities

  • Interface and coordination with outside counsel and AGC regarding general case management and discovery.
  • Coordinate and manage information and document requests to internal departments and business units in response to case investigation and discovery; communicate effectively regarding same.
  • Organize and manage all matter files, including maintaining matter database, legal hold applications and service of process.
  • Coordinate and correspond with members of other departments, including After Sales, Customer Relations and Regulatory Affairs regarding product claims.
  • Correspond with customers, outside experts, insurance companies, dealerships, and plaintiff attorneys in connection with product claims, including vehicle inspections.
  • Handle requests from law enforcement.
  • Manage and review Marketing, Public Relations, Academy and After Sales materials for product liability compliance.
  • Facilitate product liability related training and guidelines for internal departments.
  • Oversee class action claims administration and serve as liaison with third party administrator and Porsche centers.
  • Review and process invoices from outside counsel and external vendors; prepare monthly intercompany billing.
  • Prepare quarterly TREAD report for submission to NHTSA; respond to follow-up requests.
  • Assist PCNA staff attorneys with as needed aspects of legal department function.   

QualificationsQualifications

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or similar

Experience:

  • 5 years litigation experience required.
  • Product liability and automotive industry preferred.

Skills:

  • Substantive legal knowledge and understanding of litigation and discovery process.
  • Comfortable working with legal professionals and members of other departments.
  • Detail oriented with ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.  

 

The salary range for this role is $90,000-$110,000. However, it is important to note that at Porsche, compensation range is dependent on geographic location. Individual salaries within each range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skillset. Porsche reviews compensation regularly and may adjust base salaries to reflect market competitiveness.

Physical requirements

  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to talk, hear, walk, sit, stand, climb stairs on occasion with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to effectively work and complete tasks in an open office/noisy environment.
