Position overview

Responsible for performing end-to-end accounting processes for high-risk areas of the financial statements, including journal entries, month-end close, group reporting requirements, audit requests, variance analysis, and ad hoc projects under the supervision of the Manager, Accounting. It requires an independent working style with a high degree of accuracy in order to ensure the effective and efficient completion of tasks assigned.

 

Roles & responsibilities

  • Senior professional that applies comprehensive knowledge and experience of job area
  • Provide support for resolution of business problems that are difficult and sometimes complex
  • Supporting operating projects for short-term results (1 year or less)
  • Complete assigned tasks and review deliverables for less experienced associates in month end close reporting to Porsche/VW headquarters
  • Assist PCNA Accounting in performing the North America group consolidation and preparation of the PEI related footnotes
  • Research accounting guidance to ensure appropriate Accounting procedures are being applied to assigned areas of responsibility
  • Complete documentation of assigned processes and procedures
  • Responsible for end-to-end accounting for Porsche Drive Canada
  • Responsible for end-to-end creation of new legal entities in the accounting systems
  • Be a resource to department manager
  • Proactively initiate cross-training within department and serve as a back-up for other functions in the department to ensure proper coverage
  • Identify areas of improvement within the broader accounting department, determine the appropriate solution, and complete those projects

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA preferred

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive responsibilities related to month end close
  • Broad knowledge of accounting principles and accounting operations
  • Advanced Excel skills, including Macros
  • Experience with ERP system (SAP is a plus)
  • SQL/Microstrategy experience preferred

 

Skills:

  • Advanced analytical skills to research and interpret variances and exceptions to develop explanations and solutions
  • Attention to detail
  • Effectively works independently and as a team
  • Ability and willingness to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with colleagues on cross-functional teams

 

Percentage of required travel: None

 

Schedule/Shift:  May be required to work extended hours and/or weekends as business requires, particularly during closing activities

 

The salary range for this role is $90,000-$100,000. However, it is important to note that at Porsche, compensation range is dependent on geographic location. Individual salaries within each range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skillset. Porsche reviews compensation regularly and may adjust base salaries to reflect market competitiveness.

Physical requirements

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must be able to move about in the office to access office equipment and etc. Must be able to communicate and exchange information verbally with management and co-workers.
