Head of Corporate Strategy & Development

Position overview

This position leads Corporate Strategy & Development for Porsche Engineering Services North America, Inc., reporting directly to the CEO and acting as deputy in the CEO’s absence. The role drives project management, operational and organizational development, customer relations, and process and quality management across the organization, while serving as the primary point of contact to PCNA-HR, -Legal, and Aftersales. The position also oversees facility and location development, including support for merger activities and negotiation of additional operations.

Roles & responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Serve as a direct report to the CEO, acting as deputy in the CEO’s absence.
  • Drive the strategic direction of Corporate Business Development for Porsche Engineering Services North America, Inc.
  • Foster close collaboration with PCNA, PEG, PAG, and international partners.

Project Management

  • Monitor project progress, timeline, cost, and quality across key business development initiatives.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support project planning, execution, and issue resolution.

Operational & Organizational Development

  • Lead operational efficiency programs and organizational development initiatives.
  • Prepare materials and support internal committee meetings and governance activities.

Customer Relations

  • Support customer acquisition and business development efforts.
  • Lead pre-project and project review activities with customers.

Reporting

  • Prepare internal and external reporting in coordination with finance and technical departments.
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership on business development performance and initiatives.

Process Development

  • Develop and document business processes, including process descriptions and workflows.
  • Drive implementation of new and improved processes across the organization.

Capacity Management

  • Monitor team utilization and resource allocation across projects.
  • Identify skills onboard and skills needed to support current and future business demands.

Quality Management

  • Own the Lessons Learned process to drive continuous improvement.
  • Support Engineering Change Management System (ECMS) activities and certification processes.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Serve as the primary point of contact to PCNA-HR, -Legal, and Aftersales.
  • Communicate complex business topics effectively to diverse stakeholders, including senior leadership.

Facility & Location Management

  • Support development and management of company facilities.
  • Manage locations, including supporting merger activities and negotiating additional operations, such as expanded activities in Atlanta for GQ.

QualificationsQualifications

Qualifications

Required qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in corporate development, business development, or project management, ideally within the automotive or engineering services industry.
  • Proven experience monitoring project progress, timeline, cost, and quality across multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Experience supporting operational and organizational development initiatives, including efficiency programs and internal committee preparation.
  • Strong background in internal and external reporting, with the ability to partner effectively with finance and technical departments.
  • Experience developing and implementing business processes, including process documentation.
  • Familiarity with capacity management practices, including utilization tracking and skills gap analysis.
  • Knowledge of quality management principles, including Lessons Learned processes, ECMS, and certification requirements.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience liaising with HR, Legal, and Aftersales functions.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate independently as a direct report/deputy to executive leadership in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA) or equivalent experience.
  • Business-fluent German.
  • Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, or facility/location expansion activities.
  • Familiarity with both German and U.S. working cultures.
  • High customer orientation, professional presence, and ability to synthesize complex information.
  • Experience in facility development and management.

Percentage of required travel: 20-25% (domestic business trips; occasional travel to Europe)

Schedule/Shift: 8:00am – evening

 

The salary range for this role is $180,000-$210,000. However, it is important to note that at Porsche, compensation range is dependent on geographic location. Individual salaries within each range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skillset. Porsche reviews compensation regularly and may adjust base salaries to reflect market competitiveness.

Physical requirements

 

  • Ability to sit, stand, or work at a desk for extended periods.
  • Ability to travel long distances (5+ hours), including domestic and occasional international travel.
  • Work primarily occurs in an office environment, with occasional visits to test and facility sites.
  • Regular use of standard office equipment (computer, phone, presentation tools).
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
